Early Years

At Frensham Heights School, learning begins through play and brief tasks in maths, phonics, and English, with teachers closely monitoring each child’s first academic experiences to help them stay curious. As they develop, children work across personal, social and emotional skills, communication, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and creative thinking.

Junior School at Frensham Heights

In the junior school, academic and creative subjects carry equal weight, while teachers know each student and adapt their methods accordingly. Core lessons in maths, English, and science happen within form groups, though children also work with specialists in dance, drama, and music. The curriculum extends into computing, outdoor learning, foreign languages, philosophy and religion, alongside the distinctive Design and Technology course.

Middle School

Years 7 and 8 follow a programme of fourteen required subjects plus two modern foreign languages, with students staying in their form groups for most lessons while being set by ability in PE, languages, maths, and English. The 30-lesson weekly schedule emphasizes language communication, mathematical and scientific understanding, humanities, arts, and physical education, alongside the unique opportunity to work on the school’s home farm.
